Many nonprofit executive directors enter their positions without prior CEO experience and must learn to manage the complexities of a nonprofit organization for the first time. Once hired, the tenure of an executive may be short because of the demands of the job. Creating and retaining a strong board of directors can be a similarly daunting challenge.

By working with seasoned executive directors within the sector, new and emerging executive directors, seasoned Board chairs, and Board chair-elects, the HP Nonprofit Leadership Initiative combines individual and group professional development to ensure a healthy and vibrant nonprofit sector in Silicon Valley now and for years to come.
