Awards honor philanthropy’s finest

Congratulations are in order for a number of local philanthropists and friends of CFSV who will be recognized this fall on Philanthropy Day by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

The Sobrato Family Foundation will receive the “Outstanding Foundation Grantmaker” award from AFP-Silicon Valley on Nov. 20 at the Santa Clara Marriott Hotel. “The Sobrato family members have been leaders and innovators in philanthropy, from creating a fund at CFSV to develop nonprofit affordable housing in Silicon Valley to providing grant support for the infrastructure of our local public benefit agencies,” said Peter Hero, president of the Community Foundation.

Chong-Moon Lee, founder of the Chong-Moon Lee Foundation at CFSV, is among those receiving an award for “Special Recognition for Distinguished Achievement” for their outstanding contributions to the Asian Art Museum at San Francisco’s National Philanthropy Day luncheon on Nov. 12.

CFSV’s own Barb Larson, Director of Donor Services, will be receiving the “AFP Silicon Valley Chapter Service Award.” Click here for the full list of Silicon Valley awardees.
