Awards honor philanthropy’s finest
Congratulations are in order for a number of local
philanthropists and friends of CFSV who will be recognized this
fall on Philanthropy Day by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
The
Sobrato Family Foundation will receive the “Outstanding
Foundation Grantmaker” award from AFP-Silicon Valley on Nov.
20 at the Santa Clara Marriott Hotel. “The Sobrato family
members have been leaders and innovators in philanthropy, from creating
a fund at CFSV to develop nonprofit affordable housing in Silicon
Valley to providing grant support for the infrastructure of our
local public benefit agencies,” said Peter Hero, president
of the Community Foundation.
Chong-Moon Lee, founder of the Chong-Moon
Lee Foundation at CFSV, is among those receiving an award for “Special
Recognition for Distinguished Achievement” for their outstanding
contributions to the Asian Art Museum at San Francisco’s National
Philanthropy Day luncheon on Nov. 12.
CFSV’s
own Barb Larson, Director of Donor Services, will
be receiving the “AFP Silicon Valley Chapter Service Award.”
