Rambus, Inc.

Education, technology, and community services are the focus of the Rambus Foundation, which the Los Altos-based chip interface corporation created at Community Foundation Silicon Valley in 2003.

“The Rambus Foundation was created to strengthen and improve the quality of life in our community,” says Victor Echevarria, Community Relations Liaison at Rambus. “We invest in math, science and technology programs that target low-income communities and encourage the gifted innovators of tomorrow.”

The partnership with the Community Foundation has helped Rambus hone its philanthropic giving. “CFSV provides Rambus with an efficient way to give back to the community,” Victor says. “Rambus works with CFSV to identify and evaluate organizations that meet our philanthropic goals and would benefit from a Rambus grant or employee volunteer support. CFSV provides administrative help, charitable expertise, assists in the grant-making process, works with employee giving committees, and builds community-wide partnerships.”

Education is critical to Silicon Valley’s future, and a key focus of Rambus’ philanthropy. “We believe in the power of education and technology to create change,” Victor says. “Supporting community causes and broadening educational opportunities are important factors in ensuring a healthy future for Silicon Valley.”

Creating a healthy future for the region was key in Rambus’ decision to support the Community Investment Fund at CFSV, an endowment to meet current and future community needs. “The Community Investment Fund will allow the Community Foundation to increase its ability to serve the broader community, and Rambus is proud to be a partner in building this endowment,” Victor says.
